Dear Dan,

I wanted to convey to you our positive experience with the “ Contain a Pet” invisible fence for Balou.  As you know, we had a chocolate lab before Balou for 14 years without  the fence and I cannot begin to tell you the difference it has made for us.

We used to constantly worry and be on guard because Chloe liked to wander so it was very stressful not having control over her safety.  You were so wonderful to work with as we prepared to install the fence for Balou.

You were kind enough to give me puppy tips and support as we transitioned from having an older dog for so long to a rambunctious puppy.

Your experience breeding labs has been an asset to us as we had many questions needing much guidance since it had only been a month since we had lost Chloe.

You were always gracious in answering my questions.  Balou learned his boundaries very  quickly and with little effort.  It is so liberating to be able to just open the door and let him run and play; knowing that he will be safe.

Jake was also wonderful and very helpful in installing the indoor units well as helping me with the training.  The indoor unit has been so awesome !  I would recommend it to anyone who wants to preserve furniture or carpets! Balou actually comes in the family room with us but knows his parameters and stays off of the furniture and my oriental rug!  The same is true for the dining room.  We are now moving it to the upstairs to continue his training so he will stay in the foyer and out of the bedrooms.

I can hardly believe this tiny puppy that was the size of a shoe is six months old and probably close to 70 pounds!

The worst day of my life was when my dog decided he would no longer stay at home – he would come and go as he pleased taking the other dog with him.  Having lived in Beaverdam for thirty years I know that times have changed and dogs may no longer travel at will – too many people, houses, and automobiles.

My dogs use a pet door through my garage.  I never worry about letting them in  or out and, more important, I don’t have to worry about them going off my property.  They have never attempted to go out of the boundaries since the day they were trained and I have had my fence since November, 2009.  As if a money back guarantee was not enough, they also moved my fence, not once, but twice, with no cost to me when neighbors decided to widen the lane.

I cannot say enough about the honesty and integrity of Dan and Jake – I’m a believer!!!!

We just want to say thanks…the electric dog fence is working great!

We were originally going to install a chain link fence which would have required gates to get in and out of the driveway.  What a pain that would have been!!  We went online and found out about Contain-A-Pet.  They came out the very next day and have been there when we needed them ever since…and always on time!  The customer service has been awesome.  The training and conditioning was easy and our Jack Russell Terrier has not wandered to the street or the neighbors’ yards since the day the electric dog fence was installed.  We just had the worst snow storm our city (Mechanicsville, VA) has seen in over 10 years.  It sure was nice not having to put on a coat, scarf and boots to retrieve Jack from three doors down.  We just let him out to play in the snow and he loved it.  I would recommend Contain-A-Pet to anyone who wants to keep their pets safe.

Here is a testimonial from Krista Bard, owner of Bard Advisers.  She and Philip Klaus purchased a wireless indoor dog fence.  Please note that we can use our wireless indoor fence for cats too!

Did you ever hear the phrase “penny wise and pound foolish?”  Well, we thought we would be smart, save some dollars, and get an indoor dog fence from the internet pet store.  Mistake.  The wireless fence system didn’t work, the dogs would walk right up to it no matter how high we turned it up, we couldn’t get anyone on the phone for support, and the manufacturer and distributor kept volleying us back and forth to get answers.  We ended up returning the system, not without argument, wasting a huge amount of time and aggravation, and had to pay all the shipping costs.

Then we found our Richmond Dog Fence Dealer from  Contain A Pet.  What a difference!  They called us back the same day we inquired, set up an appointment, set up equipment, trained the dogs, showed us how to train the dogs too, and answered all of our questions very professionally, very patiently, and kindly.  They were gentle, but firm with our two dogs, and the dogs immediately learned new boundaries in the house.  What is important is that we learned what to do with the dogs to reinforce the indoor dog fence training.  The next day, Contain a Pet called us to see how the dog fence system was working and to see if we had any questions.  We did have a problem with one of the units, and they immediately came and tested it and replaced it.  And again, they called to double check to make sure everything was working properly.
