Dear Dan,
I wanted to convey to you our positive experience with the “ Contain a Pet” invisible fence for Balou. As you know, we had a chocolate lab before Balou for 14 years without the fence and I cannot begin to tell you the difference it has made for us.
We used to constantly worry and be on guard because Chloe liked to wander so it was very stressful not having control over her safety. You were so wonderful to work with as we prepared to install the fence for Balou.
You were kind enough to give me puppy tips and support as we transitioned from having an older dog for so long to a rambunctious puppy.
Your experience breeding labs has been an asset to us as we had many questions needing much guidance since it had only been a month since we had lost Chloe.
You were always gracious in answering my questions. Balou learned his boundaries very quickly and with little effort. It is so liberating to be able to just open the door and let him run and play; knowing that he will be safe.
Jake was also wonderful and very helpful in installing the indoor units well as helping me with the training. The indoor unit has been so awesome ! I would recommend it to anyone who wants to preserve furniture or carpets! Balou actually comes in the family room with us but knows his parameters and stays off of the furniture and my oriental rug! The same is true for the dining room. We are now moving it to the upstairs to continue his training so he will stay in the foyer and out of the bedrooms.
I can hardly believe this tiny puppy that was the size of a shoe is six months old and probably close to 70 pounds!
Thank you so much for such a great product and for walking beside me throughout the process.

Note: Dianne and her lab, Balou, are one of our many Glen Allen Fence clients. Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you and Balou.

The worst day of my life was when my dog decided he would no longer stay at home – he would come and go as he pleased taking the other dog with him. Having lived in Beaverdam for thirty years I know that times have changed and dogs may no longer travel at will – too many people, houses, and automobiles.
The best day of my life was when I called Contain-A-Pet. Even though co-workers and friends assured me I was “throwing my money away” and that the invisible fence would definitely not work, I decided to give it a try. I chose Contain-A-Pet because it was locally owned and was listed in the Yellow Pages. I was very impressed with Dan Warren – his knowledge, love of dogs, and commitment to good customer service is unsurpassed. I had my fence within the week and by the next week the dogs had been trained by Dan and Jake.
My dogs use a pet door through my garage. I never worry about letting them in or out and, more important, I don’t have to worry about them going off my property. They have never attempted to go out of the boundaries since the day they were trained and I have had my fence since November, 2009. As if a money back guarantee was not enough, they also moved my fence, not once, but twice, with no cost to me when neighbors decided to widen the lane.
I cannot say enough about the honesty and integrity of Dan and Jake – I’m a believer!!!!

Dan and his staff have been nothing but helpful, responsive and genuinely interested in the care and happiness of our yellow lab, Bella.
When we had the fence installed, they offered great advice on how to best train and teach Bella. It was clear to us that they had her best interests at heart…they weren’t just there to install the fence and run. Their follow-up service has been excellent. We would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Mr. Warren
Thanks to Contain-A-Pet for helping me secure my two large Labs. One had a habit of exploring the neighborhood and being found close to a main highway. Since the installation of the underground fence system I have had no problems with him taking his trips. Both Labs have adjusted and enjoy a 3 acre lot by running and playing and I have gained peace and confidence that they are safe. Thanks to Jake and You for your professional job and follow ups. What a great investment!
Thanks

It has come to our attention that there is a fence company that is trying to sell an invisible type puppy fence to puppy owners for puppies from eight to twelve weeks of age.
If you love your dog, please do not do this!!
Your puppy can be psychologically effected if you allow this to happen. Behavior research has shown that every puppy goes through a “fear imprint” stage from 6 to 16 weeks of age. Anything that can mentally effect them during this period can psychologically damage them for life.
Why take this chance if it is not necessary? Have you ever considered that at 8 - 12 weeks a puppy is no more than just a baby?
People or companies that would do this know absolutely nothing about dog behavior. This is cruel and unusual treatment of a puppy. Now you understand why some people think electronic underground fencing is harmful to pets (which it isn’t if done properly).
If you choose to invest in an underground puppy fence with another company … that is your choice. Please do not put your puppy on the dog containment system at this age. Ask any veterinarian or dog behaviorist or real dog trainer what they think. I trust that they will concur with our comments.
If you want to give me a call, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have … from puppies to dog training and fencing in the Richmond and Fredericksburg areas. Those of you who know me know that dog’s are my life. I breed lab puppies. I am a professional trainer. I am the loccal Contain-A-Pet Dealer. I promise you I will never steer you wrong. Life is too short … and too precious.

Wanted to let you know how pleased we have been with our new Contain-A-Pet electric dog fence system. Moving to rural New Kent County from Charlotte, N.C. was a big change for our
family including our dog Dusty. We were fortunate enough to get a home with an acre of land and didn’t want to break up our beautiful back yard with a fence. We know we made the right decision to go with Contain-A-Pet. Dusty adjusted quickly thanks to your training and we would definitely recommend Dan and the Contain-A-Pet electric dog fence system to anyone.
Thanks for being so thorough with Dusty’s training and the installation.
Regards,
Brian and Jan Chandler
